LOU MURRALL | CINEMATOGRAPHER

ABOUT ME

Lets Get Into It!
Here’s a quick video all about me...

A man operating a professional film camera outdoors on a paved path with grass and trees in the background.

I’m a cinematographer who cares about one thing: telling stories that matter. Stories with weight, honesty, and a bit of grit.

I grew up on classic 80s and 90s cinema, the kind of films that had real texture, real characters, and images that stayed with you. That early nostalgia still shapes how I see the world through a lens. I’m always chasing frames that feel lived-in, not polished for the sake of it.

I’ve been in this game nearly twenty years, starting out in rental and learning every piece of kit inside out. I worked my way up through the camera department, moved into lighting, and built the craft from the ground up. Cameras, lenses, light. I use all of it to make an audience feel something, not just watch something.

I’m here to serve the story. Character, tone, and images with guts. Every frame should have a purpose. Every shot should move the audience somewhere, even if it makes them uncomfortable.

I’m drawn to narrative work that lingers. Bold, untold stories with a point of view. The kind that leaves people changed.

Along the way I’ve built up a solid kit base of my own, so I can roll into most jobs with enough gear to move fast, stay flexible, and deliver a premium image without relying on a massive hire list. When a project needs more, I know exactly what to pull in and how to crew it properly. - KIT LIST
